Daayan actress Priya Bathija recently revealed that she suffered domestic violence in her marriage with DJ Kawaljeet Saluja. The actress said that she took a divorce on mutual consent because she didn’t want to stretch the matter and her family wanted her to get out of the relationship as soon as possible.

“Like any girl, I wanted to have a fairy tale wedding, otherwise, why would I agree to marry again? I had hoped this was for good, which is why I even agreed to put my career on pause and spend time in Raipur. Surprisingly, my MIL was adamant that we shift to Mumbai, bag and baggage. I made every effort to help my husband in his career, but never did he treat this as a serious relationship. I was, in fact, a ticket to his life in Mumbai," Priya Bathija said in a statement.

Priya further stated that she only decided to take things legally when things turned violent. She added, "I had hoped to forgive Kawal, who married me on false pretexts, that there was vital information about his life that was hidden from me and my family which we later found out."
However, Priya has now decided to start afresh and focus on herself. On work front, she was seen in TV shows including Khwaish, Kasamh Se, Ek Boond Ishq, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Suryapuytra Karn to name a few.
