‘Uttaran’ fame Rashami Desai opens up about her battle with Psoriasis, says ‘I was on steroid which caused weight gain’

TV actress Rashami Desai, who was last seen in serial Dil Se Dil Tak, spoke about her specific health issue. The actress shared that she was suffering from psoriasis, a skin condition characterized by patches of abnormal skin.

“I have been dealing with the health issues for the past few months. Last year in December, I was diagnosed with psoriasis, which is a skin problem. It takes lot of time to be cured and one isn’t always completely cured. For the last four months, I was on steroid treatment programme which caused weight gain. I was not allowed to go in the sun as heat aggravates the problem. It also escalates due to stress but it was impossible not to be stressed as I am an actor, an in this business an actor’s face is everything,” Rashami Desai said in a statement.

However the situation is under control now and Rashami is currently focusing on her weight loss.

While talking about her health issue, the actress also pointed out that it is tough for female actors to talk about such health issues openly as it might affect their career. However, Rashami is talking about it because she feels that this disease is treatable and nothing to be ashamed of.

On the work front, Rashami has been part of shows like Uttaran, Ishq Ka Rang Safed, Comedy Classes, Comedy Nights Live and many more.
