Kavita Kaushik - Ronnit Biswas plans to not have children; check out other TV couples who have not embraced parenthood yet

Small screen actress Kavita Kaushik recently made headlines by revealing that she and her husband Ronnit Biswas are not planning to have kids in real life. The actress said that it’s a mutual decision taken by the two.

“I don't want to be unfair to the child. If I have a child in my 40s, by the time my child would be 20, we would've touched our old age. I don't want our child to take care of old parents in his/her 20s. Maybe we are not maternal and paternal as people. We want to make the world a lighter place and don't want to bring up a child to this overcrowded city and throw him in the struggles of Mumbai," Kavita Kaushik said in a statement.

The actress further added, “Ronnit lost his parents when he was very young and even I, being the only child, had to do a lot of hard work to make a living and support my family. So now, we are enjoying life like kids, travelling and achieving couple goals and more. Sometimes I act like a father to him and he acts like a mother to me. We fulfil the things that we don't have in each other's lives, thus, we don't feel the need to have a child.”

Did you know there are a few more TV couples who have still not embraced parenthood despite being married for several years? Obviously, it’s a couple’s choice and personal affair too which cannot be questioned by anyone.

Take a look:

Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani

Married for: 12 Years

Apurva and Shilpa are considered as one of the powerful couples of the television industry. The couple got married on June 24, 2004, in Dehradun. Despite being married for 15 years, they have not decided to have kids.

Mohit Malik – Aditi Shirwaker

Married For: 9 Years

Mohit and Aditi took the marriage vows on December 1, 2010. It’s been nine years since their wedding, but the couple has still not decided to become parents.

A few months back, when Mohit was asked about the same, he said, “I have always wanted to start a family. In fact, I want to have a daughter, but Addite and I have decided to wait. It is important that both of us get more settled, financially and professionally, before bringing someone else into our lives. We have to give our baby the best, and we need to be prepared mentally, emotionally and physically to have a child.”

Ravi Dubey – Sargun Mehta

Married For: 6 Years

Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta first met each other on the sets of 12/24 Karol Bagh in 2009. They started dating in the same year. If reports are too believed, the couple was into a courtship for two years before getting married in 2013. Being married for 6 years, the couple is still waiting to start a family.

“I’ll be honest. I want to be a father. But Sargun and I have different priorities at the moment. She is doing well in her career. A woman has to go through a lot of biological changes [when she becomes pregnant]. So I can’t put Sargun through that right now. There’s a long time before we go the family way,” Ravi Dubey said in a statement.

Aamir Ali- Sanjeeda Sheikh

Married For: 7 Years

After seven years of courtship, Aamir and Sanjeeda uttered ‘qubool hai’ in a grand style on March 2, 2012. It’s been almost seven years since their marriage but Aamir and Sanjeeda have not yet planned to have kids.

Anita Hassanandani – Rohit Reddy

Married For: 6 Years

Anita Hassanandani married businessman Rohit Reddy in Goa on October 14, 2013. A few months back, there were reports about the couple opting for surrogacy; however, the actress rubbished the rumours.

The actress had said, “There is no truth in these rumours. We have thought about having a baby, and I plan to have a baby the natural and normal way. Hopefully, if things go as planned, we might have a baby next year.” She further added, “I have been busy with two TV shows, and work-wise, I wanted to be free when I have a child. I don’t want a hectic work schedule when I get pregnant. So, once my ongoing fantasy drama ends, the plan is to start thinking about a family.” The actress also hopes to experience a normal pregnancy rather than having to go for surrogacy. She also pointed out that having a child through surrogacy is a personal situation.
