After Kunal Kamra submits his YouTube button for Coronavirus benefit auction, Anurag Kashyap is willing to give away his ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ Filmfare trophy

Anurag Kashyap has decided to put his Filmfare Critics Choice Award for Best Film trophy that he won for Gangs of Wasseypur for auction to raise money for Coronavirus test kits. He won the award in 2013 and is one of his most prized possessions. He is willingly putting up the trophy for auction after responding to stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra’s call for artists to support the cause.

Anurag made the announcement in a tweet and wrote, “Highest bidder gets the original trophy for the Filmfare critics award best film 2013. Gangs of Wasseypur.”

Kunal had actually started to raise funds for COVID-19 test kits and asked artists to join his cause. His original tweet read, “While each rupee counts I appreciate the hell out of Comrade @anuragkashyap72 who is giving away his 2013 gangs of Wasseypur critics award to the highest donor of this charity with my YouTube button.”

Writer Varun Grover also joined the cause and said that he will put his TOIFA award for Best Lyrics for Moh Moh Ke Dhaage from Dum Laga Ke Haisha up for auction. Check his tweet below.

Kunal also revealed that Javed Akhtar has also joined the cause and will be giving a signed copy of one of his favourite books In Other Words to the highest bidder.

Vishal Dadlani joined the fray and said that he will do a personal video-call and live-in performance one of his songs for the highest bidder.

The proceeds collected from the auction will be transferred directly from Milaap Foundation to Mylab Discovery Solutions, which will help Burda Media India to secure testing kits and donate to hospitals and labs across the country.
