The nation woke up to the shocking news of Wajid Khan's untimely death. The music composer and singer who along with his brother Sajid Khan delivered numerous hits in the past, breathed his last at the age of 42. Wajid was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai for over two months and was in critical condition for the last 10 days due to his heart ailment. It is believed that he was infected with Coronavirus three days ago.
Soon after the news broke out during the wee hours of Monday morning, Bollywood offered their condolence to the bereaved family. Akshay Kumar, on Twitter, wrote, "Shocked and saddened to hear about the untimely demise of #WajidKhan, talented and ever-smiling...gone too soon. May God give strength to his family in this difficult time"

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja shared a picture with Wajid on Instagram and wrote, "Rest in peace #wajidkhan"
