He was angry at Varun Dhawan but vented on me: Sara Ali Khan recalls the time when 'Coole No. 1' director David Dhawan shouted at her

David Dhawan's upcoming rom-com Coolie No.1 is one of the highly awaited films of 2020. Starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, the film has generated curiosity amongst fans with its interesting posters that were released a few months ago. The film is a remake of  the 1995 Coolie No. 1 which featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles. Now, as the film is gearing up for a Christmas release on Amazon Prime Video, Sara has made a funny revelation on the trailer launch event that was virtually held.

At the event, Sara spoke about how once David got angry at her because she was late and even Varun was not on time. Sara said, “We were filming ‘Main Toh Raste Se’ when David sir got upset with me and shouted at me because, although I was ready for my shot, I was supposed to tag something on my costume and that was taking time”. But the real reason behind the senior director's outburst on the actress was Varun. As the actor was busy working on his costume which had delayed the shoot, getting David fuming with anger. So the actress revealed it happened because of Varun delaying the shoot, leaving David Dhawan upset and Sara being at the receiving end of the director’s anger.

“He was doing some costume business in the van and David sir got pretty upset at him as it was delaying the shoot. So basically, he was angry at Varun but vented on me. That was a bit of an issue, but it is all good,” she added.

Coolie No. 1 is scheduled to release on December 25, 2020. It is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh.
