Katy Perry publicly supports Ellen DeGeneres amid talk show controversy, says,'I've only had positive takeaways'

Ellen DeGeneres, the host of the longest-running television show The Ellen DeGeneres Show is amid a major debate on toxic work environment and unethical professional behaviour on the sets of the show. While an internal investigation is in progress, Ellen's friend Katy Perry has come out in support of the former. Defending the talk show host against allegations that she isn't a kind person, the 35-year-old singer who is pregnant with her first child, said she has always had positive takeaways from the time she spent with Ellen. 

Katy, on Twitter, publicly defended Ellen and tweeted, "I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow." She further continued saying, "I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow"

Ellen, soon after the production house Telepictures and distributors Warner Bros. Television initiated an internal investigation owing to allegations of the toxic work environment and other workplace problems, issued a statement and apologised. She assured that the situation will change immediately.

On the other hand, reports are indicating that James Corden is in line to replace Ellen as the host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. However, there is no official confirmation.
