2020 was a year of recognition for Jitendra Kumar, better known as Jitu Bhaiya. Right before the lockdown, his debut Bollywood film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan released and was much appreciated. Later, in April, he delighted the family audience with the light-hearted village drama titled Panchayat on Amazon Prime Video. Hailed as one of this year's best shows made in India, Jitendra is reaping the fruit of hard work. Talking to PeepingMoon in the special Meet The Scene Stealers of 2020 segment, Jitendra opened up about the content produced in the country.
Jitendra shared that he has been active in the industry since 2013. He felt that the audience has enough content to consume. Saying that though he was around for a very long time, recognition arrived at his doorstep in 2020 when people were dependent on OTT for entertainment.
Talking about his debut Bollywood film, Jitendra said the film was watched not just watched by youngsters but by a family audience too. He gushed saying the film drew an older audience to theatres. He said Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan was an important film for the industry, the audience and those who worked on it.
Jitendra further shared that he wasn't sure whether Panchayat would be received well by the audience. He further quipped that he has allowed the Universe to conspire a negative role for him.
