Salman Khan is back with a bang as the host of the twelfth season of controversial reality show Bigg Boss and of course, we cannot keep calm. The show stands true to its format of being controversial as the contestants, who entered the house, appear to ensure pure entertainment.

From singers and their students to friends from stark opposite backgrounds to lovers from different age groups and certain television actors, every contestant will be fighting for their survival while trying to maintain their sanity. The theme of this season is ‘Singles Vs Vichitra Jodis.’ Commoners, as well as celebrities, have participated in the show in this season.

Bigg Boss 12 premiered on September 16 and we have got all the updates for your perusal:

Salman performed to his songs and introduced the jodis who were already present in the outhouse. Former Roadies contestants Surbhi Rana and Kriti Verma, Kolkata-based make-up artist Mittal Joshi and Roshmi Banik were in the outhouse while the audience was asked to vote for the best jodi out of them. Those who failed to garner enough votes were evicted on the premier night itself.

Salman, thereafter, introduced television actor Karanvir Bohra as the first contestant, who made a classic entry with his performance to the song Tera Hero Idhar Hai. The superstar also pulled off certain jokes on Karanvir and he took it like an absolute sport.

Shivashish Mishra, a pompous entrepreneur from Indore who swears by international brands, and his best friend Sourabh Patel, an affluent farmer from Jabalpur, were introduced soon after.

Top Ki Salaami is the next segment that was discussed on stage - an expert panel was asked whether a solo participant will be able to out power a jodi. The expert panel consists of ex-season winners Manveer Gurjar and Shilpa Shinde along with television anchors Dibang and Shwetha Singh. The panel chose the jodi over Karanvir.

Sourabh and Shivashish entered the house next and the latter was trapped in a glass chamber. Dipika Kakar Ibrahim, best known for her role in Sasural Simar Ka, was the next contestant, who was welcomed with the song Tere Mast Mast Do Nain from Salman’s 2010 film Dabangg. Dibang and Salman also teased the actress in reference to her recent marriage to Shoaib Ibrahim.

Shilpa, in fact, questioned Dipika on how she planned to cope in the house considering the fact that she is a perfectionist following which she spoke of her initial struggle in the industry. Her husband, thereafter, came to see her off and she entered the house.

After Dipika, Salman introduced another unique jodi of a cop and an advocate. Nirmal Singh is serving as a head constable in Kurukshetra and his friend Romil Chaudhary is an advocate from Karnal. The expert panel expressed their doubt about how the jodi will survive considering that Nirmal appeared to be a lot more docile in comparison to Romil, who also took the Top Ki Salaami.

In the meantime, Romil pulled a comedy act by making Salman stand in a witness box and questioning him on his marriage and relationships.

Inside the house, Sourabh and Shivashish were getting restless as the latter was still in the glass chamber.

Neha Pendse, who was last seen in the comedy show May I Come In Madame, joined the list of contestants.

After Neha, Salman invited devotional singer Anup Jalota on stage, who sang his very popular bhajan Aisi Lagi Lagan. Anup was accompanied by his 28-year-old student Jasleen Matharu.

Jasleen, after her introduction, revealed that she has been dating Anup for a while. Soon after, she gave a sizzling performance which stumped not just the audience but also her partner.

Salman and Dibang couldn’t seem to digest this weird love story and kept poking fun whenever they got a chance.

Salman, thereafter, invited the two jodis from the outhouse on stage. Roshmi Banik and Kriti Verma were selected as the winning pair by the audience. They joined the others in the house as Surabhi and Mittal left the show. They were given a task to call and explain why they thought that their opponent does not deserve to be on the show. While Surbhi targeted Mittal, the jodis worked hard to make up.

Inside the house, people had already started selecting their beds and cupboards.

Srishty Rode was the next contestant, who performed to an energetic dance number with her best friend, actress Rubina Dilaik. The Choti Bahu actress also revealed a few secrets about her friend to the audience.

The next jodi to join Salman on stage was that of Pathan Sisters, Saba and Soha. They did not have it easy in life as their father abandoned them, and have undertaken the challenge of Bigg Boss 12 in their stride.

After Saba and Soha, Deepak Thakur and Urvashi Vaani entered the house. Bihar-based Deepak is a singer and was discovered by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who also provided vocals to a song in Gangs of Wasseyur. Urvashi is Deepak’s student as well as an ardent fan. Their relationship has so far been kept under the wraps.

However, Deepak and his partner’s simplicity was appreciated by the expert panel and later, when he entered the house, other contestants praised him as well.

After singers and popular television names, the unique solo entry in the house was that of a cricketer, who is popular for several reasons apart from the game. Do we even need to mention that the contestant we are discussing here is S. Sreesanth.

He made an entry by displaying his dance moves as he performed to the title track of Sultan. The cricketer, in fact, shared an emotional moment with his wife Bhuvneshwari, who wished him luck and requested him to refrain from shaving his head off.

Sreesanth, thereafter, entered the house while contestants gathered on the couch and Bigg Boss extended a warm welcome to all. With this, the premiere night finally concluded.

Meanwhile, a cursory glance inside the house depicted the squabbles that already seemed to have commenced. Tongues were already heard wagging on Anup’s and Jasleen’s love story. Only with time, shall we know whether jodis will face the light of the day or will the singles shine through?
