Soon after devotional singer Anup Jalota confessed dating Jasleen Matharu during the premiere of Bigg Boss 12, everybody in the house was primarily interested in discussing their relationship. Jalota is 65 while Jasleen in 28. Their age difference is difficult to grasp for the audience and especially the housemates. Host Salman Khan and Dibang, as well, didn’t leave a chance during the premiere to express their opinions on this matter. So considering all of the above, the first day in the Bigg Boss house was pretty action packed with housemates concentrating on Anup and Jasleen while everybody tried to extract the truth from them.

Here’s all that unfolded in the house on Day 1:

The housemates woke up to the Judwaa song and since everybody was making an effort to know each other, all of them gathered for breakfast together and were seen chatting.

It was during this chat that one of the Pathan sisters Saba questioned their relationship to which Jasleen played safe by saying that he is confident - he is a guru, a friend and a good person. Anup had a very confusing answer and said that not that he is in love or something but, he is on the show just because she wanted to be in a part of it.

Romil Chaudhary declared that he will be handling the kitchen along with Sourabh Patel.

In the garden area, Deepak and Urvashi were seen getting cordial with Anup and Jasleen. They raised their doubts over Saba and her behaviour. Deepak said that considering the format of the show, it’s too early to trust anyone. Earlier in the day, Deepak was seen expressing his fascination over the jacuzzi. Bigg Boss, thereafter, called on Dipika Kakkar for the first task of the season, BB press conference. In the task, singles were pitted against the 'vichitra jodis.' The singles had to prove that the jodi were weaker in comparison to them.

It is during this task that all the housemates targeted Jasleen and Anup in order to seek an explanation on their relationship. Ex-housemates Hiten Tejwani and Hina Khan also participated in the task.

Srishty Rode voiced her concern on Jalota being unfit for the task considering his age. His partner Jasleen was quick to defend by saying that not every task requires physical stamina. Saba, yet again, dived in to the situation and said that as a couple, the duo lacks chemistry to which Jasleen said that just because they participated together does not mean that they will be spending time with each other only.

Dipika played the final card when she said that Jasleen seemed reluctant on admitting her reaction to Anup. Jasleen, who was seen loosing her patience with all the limelight, came out strongly on everyone when she said that, “It is Bigg Boss and not a dating show”. Hina stepped in and asked Jasleen to accept to which Jasleen said that she does. However, Anup and Jasleen lost the round to Dipika and Srishty.

After the task, Sreesanth came in support of Anup and Jasleen. Shivashish's partner Sourabh Patel was also seen consoling the couple.

Nehha Pendse was the next single who chose Deepak and Urvashi. Nehha blamed Dipika and Urvashi that they do not have a strategy in place to win the show. She also questioned their intention to participate in the tasks. Dipika, thereafter, was quick to come to the rescue by saying that it was too early for all this and that picking up an unnecessary task for the sake of featuring on camera is not fair.

Jasleen and Anup as well came to Deepak and Urvashi’s rescue by blaming Nehha that she was unprepared for the task and she chose them in a hurry. Nehaa tried defending herself by saying that she needed clarity but ultimately lost.

With this, the task came to an end but it will continue on the second day.

Shivashish and Somi, in the meantime, suggestively started faking a fight and managed to fool the housemates.

As the show progresses, the most crucial part is to assign household chores. The Pathan sisters Saba and Somi already seem to be on the radar.
