Welcome, the flavour of the season, Bigg Boss 12! Echoing the sentiments of the show, controversy’s favourite child and the superstar of Bollywood, Salman Khan, has been hosting the show for nine long years now. We earlier told you why we think Bhaijaan is the ultimate host for BB, but beyond all the reasons listed, it is the very demeanour and conduct of the actor that makes him the perfect pick. Desirable at 52, with the world dialled in and a reputation for sparking a row even in just 14 characters is something Khan enjoys a moment or more for. Not to forget, he boasts of several back-to-back blockbuster hits on his resume, many of which are amongst India’s highest grosser films. But this article is not about Salman but rather his new set of contestants on the reality show.

Before we proceed, is it just us or do you too feel like everything inside the Bigg Boss house seems under control? Is it the lull begore the storm or some trick is awaiting a signal is a conundrum we are faced with? We are ready to brush aside these observations are mere guesses but a little digging up has brought an interesting pattern to the fore. You may want to keep your popcorn bucket ready because this is certainly not just any piece of information but an assured interesting read.

In our view, contestants of the current season might have borrowed a lesson or two from their predecessors. For example, Sasural Simar Ka starlet Dipika Kakar took charge of putting food on everyone’s plate. But doesn’t this ring a bell? Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain actress Shilpa Shinde too had won hearts with her cooking skills during her stay in the BB house and eventually, clinched the trophy. It is mention worthy that it might not be just Dipika who reminds us of last year’s strategic play, here are other contestants who could be aping some of the participants of Bigg Boss 11.

Dipika Kakar

As told earlier, Dipika has already claimed the kitchen and there is no doubt about the fact that she, indeed, is taking after Shilpa’s victory last year. However, another striking similarity she bears is with Hina Khan. Both Hina and Dipika have been amongst television’s favourite bahus and needless to mention, Khan cashed on the following like a player. Will Dipika turn to her legion of fans through smart appeals tucked in between conversations? Time will tell.

Karanvir Bohra

He is a big fan of Salman Khan, and that should be enough to sail through the season. But Karanvir Bohra is also seen playing the mediator between commoners and celebrities locked inside the house. Fans watching the show have been quick enough to point the fact too, but we don’t mind as long as it reminds of Hiten Tejwani. Or maybe, Vikas Gupta? Or, both? Your guess is as good as ours.

Saba Khan – Somi Khan

Saba Khan and Somi Khan are prepared to fight their competition and if need be, won’t hesitate to go after each other. Anything to win the winner’s title! Notably, the nuances and behaviour of these two sisters from Jaipur has been constantly reminiscing memories of Aawam ki jaan – Arshi Khan in our minds. A strong hold over self and others, will Saba and Somi be the next Arshi of Bigg Boss?

Kriti Verma – Roshmi Banik

 

Experience always comes handy! Reason why it wasn’t much of a surprise when Bigg Boss 11 contestants Priyank Sharma and Benafsha Soonawalla fared extremely well on the show. It was their stint on Splitsvilla that rowed their boats. But will the same hold true in case of Kriti Verma and Roshmi Banik? Both of them have been on Roadies before but will that help them cement their position on this show?

Last year, Bigg Boss had introduced two celebrities who entered the house with a prior reality show background – Priyanka Sharma and Benafsha Soonawalla. Both Priyanka and Benafsha were ex-Splitsvilla contestants and it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that their experience made them strong contenders let alone grab eyeballs with their ‘friendship.’

Srishty Rode

Srishty Rode may not be as popular as Dipika Kakar but that sure doesn’t stop her from becoming a fashionista. Just like we saw an all-new Hina Khan – toned body, stylish and very sophisticated, who knows Srishty might turn out to a reflection of her?
