After much wait and anticipation, the thirteenth season of the popular controversial show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan aired its premiere episode on September 29. Before the show began, a lot was being stated about the names of the participants and with the revelation of the contestants, it seems the house will play host to diverse celebrities and strong ideologies. Amongst the thirteen contestants, the first one to enter the house was Sidharth Shukla, The actor, who is better remembered for his role in Balika Vadhu, during an interview, spoke about what motivated him to take up the show. He further revealed his mother’s opinion and what she had to tell him before entering the house.
Why did you choose Bigg Boss 13?
Sidharth: I want to use this opportunity in order to understand myself better as I'll encounter various situations which may be otherwise, we don't go through in our day to day life. As an audience, we sometimes wonder and feel that If I would be the contestant, I wouldn't react in a particular manner but when you are inside the house and experience things, in reality, it is completely different. So, my main motive to take up Bigg Boss is to understand my self-much more than I am today.
The best advice you have received before entering the house
Sidharth: I have received a lot of advice but one thing that my mom said is, ‘son this show will be watched by your grandmother as well. So please don't do anything which will affect the image of our family.’
Any favorite contestant from the previous seasons?
Sidharth: I didn't watch the show regularly, by the time I used to get back home from the shoot, it used to be very tiring. Whatever I have watched in bits and pieces would be very difficult for me to decide who is my favorite contestant as I wasn't aware of their entire journey.
Any special preparations you have done before entering the Bigg Boss house
Sidharth: No, I haven't done any preparations because when you prepare yourself you tend to be more predictable and I don't want to be one of them. I want to be who I am and just want to be myself rather than being pretentious.
