Bigg Boss 14 contestants were all set for the captaincy task. Eijaz Khan, Jasmin Bhasin, Rakhi Sawant, Rubina Dilaik, Abhinav Shukla, Arshi Khan, Rahul Mahajan, Vikas Gupta, Nikki Tamboli, Aly Goni, Rahul Vaidya and Sonali Phogat got into the competitive zone as they were all set for the task. 

Thursday's episode was all about New Year's celebration and the captaincy task. 

Here are the top 10 highlights from Day 89 of Bigg Boss 14:

- The new task was hosted by the three contenders for captaincy - Arshi Khan, Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan. The task was that these three had to get the most people at their party. Each of them had to invite the other housemates to dance in their designated party area. The one who managed to get the maximum number of contestants in their area would become the next captain of the house.

- When the task started, all the contestants were seen dancing, as they partied the night away. The three contenders were also seen trying to persuade others to be a part of their team. 

- From compliments to bribes, each of the three tried their best to lure housemates into their zones.

-Arshi asked Nikki Tamboli to join her team and in return, she promised to assign no household chores to her if she became the captain.

- Rakhi was also seen trying to convince Nikki and Jasmin Bhasin to be in her party. She tried to sort out her differences with Jasmin but the latter refused to accept any explanation.

- Rahul was also seen explaining to everyone why he would be the best and the most balanced captain of the house. The majority of the house agreed to what he said. 

- Jasmin and Aly Goni also had a romantic moment in between. She was heard saying, “Mere gharwalon ko mana lena (Win over my family), you love me so much.” Jasmin said, “Propose to me,” and Aly replied, “That is never going to happen, you will propose.”

- Later, when Arshi was asked who should become the captain if not her, she took Rahul Mahajan’s name citing that Rakhi isn’t hygienic. However, Rakhi said that she will become a good captain since she is entertaining and that she will not use her captaincy for unfair advantage.

- In the end, Rahul Mahajan emerged as the new captain of the house, defeating Arshi and Rakhi. The housemates then rang in New Years 2021 together.
