Bigg Boss OTT: Karan Johar chokes up as he pays tribute to Sidharth Shukla, says 'I am numb, I can’t even breathe'

September 2 became one of the black days of 2021. The entertainment industry lost Sidharth Shukla to cardiac arrest. The 40 years old actor left behind his mother Rita Shukla, elder sisters, friends like Shehnaaz Gill and millions of fans who are still in disbelief. The industry gave him a teary-eyed farewell on September 3. Sidharth was a prominent actor in television and films but his fan following shot up after he participated in Bigg Boss 13 and won the trophy.

On Sunday, the team of the first digital edition of Bigg Boss paid an emotional tribute to Sidharth. Host Karan Johar fought back his tears as he spoke about the actor. As Karan remembered the ‘favourite member’ of the Bigg Boss family, a montage of Sidharth's moments from Bigg Boss 13 played on the screen. Sidharth Shukla, ek aisa chehra, ek aisa naam jo hum sabki zindagi ka ek ahem hissa ban gaya tha. Bigg Boss family ke favourite member, jo mere hi nahi balki humari industry ke anginat logon ke dost, achanak hum sab ko chhod ke chale gaye," Karan said as he paid tribute to the actor.

The filmmaker choked up as he said, "This is something we are all still finding hard to believe. It is like I am numb, I can’t even breathe. Sid was a good son, a great friend and just an amazing guy to be around and be with. His positive vibe and that smile won so many millions of hearts."

Before concluding, Karan said he and the audience will need enough strength to continue the show. The filmmaker told, "Rest in peace, Sid Shukla, you shall be missed forever." He added, "But if you think about it, and this is what I am sure Sid even wanted, because as we all know, the show must go on."

Sidharth appeared as the first special guest of Bigg Boss OTT on August 15. He was with his Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant and rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Gill. It was his second-last TV appearance. Sidharth, a popular face on TV, made his Bollywood debut with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and the film was produced by Karan's Dharma Productions.
