The 16th season of India's popular reality show, Bigg Boss, is all set to greet the audience on October 1. Ahead of the show's premiere, the makers hosted a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday. Salman Khan, who is the host of Bigg Boss 16, was present at the press conference.
At the press conference, the first contestant of Bigg Boss 16 was announced. Salman welcomed Tajikistan singer Abdu Rozik as one of the participants. For the unversed, Abdu became an internet sensation with his song Ohi Dili Zor. At the event, Salman confirmed that Abdu is above 18 and is eligible to be a participant in Bigg Boss 16.
Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan co-hosted the event with Salman. During a question-answer session, Salman was asked about his remuneration for Bigg Boss 16. When Gauahar said the rumoured figure this year is Rs. 1000 crores, the superstar said, "I would never get this much and if in reality, I get this amount, I don’t think I’d be working. I have a lot of expenses like on lawyers and because of these rumours, income-tax people will start noticing me."
Salman also spoke about returning to the show as the host and grilling contestants every season. "I learn a lot on this show and get to meet so many people, and whenever they go off track, I bring them back in the right direction. I protect the bullied and bully the ones who bully. In the four months when this show goes on, we bond like a family," Salman shared.
When asked whether he would like to invite a Bollywood couple to the show, the host told, "No one. I don’t think anyone can play the game inside. It’s a different thing. I would not take the names but I would like to have a few contestants who would go inside single but come out from the house together."
According to reports, Shivin Narang, Shaleen Bhanot, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Sumbul Touqeer, Manya Singh, Tinaa Dattaa, Sreejita De, Gautam Vig, Soundarya Sharma and Shiv Thakre are the contestants of Bigg Boss 16 apart from Abdu.
