Sai Ketan Rao opened up about the numerous struggles and hardships he faced during his early years. He revealed that his father abandoned the family, leaving his mother to face harassment from her in-laws. Despite these challenges, Sai and his mother fought back, enduring many difficulties together. He recounted harrowing experiences, including sleeping on railway tracks, as his mother juggled multiple jobs to support and raise two children.
Sai also shared the significant age gap between him and his younger sister, highlighting that their journey to financial stability was fraught with obstacles. Despite their growth, it was a tough ride.
Fellow contestants Chandrika Dixit and Deepak Chaurasia consoled Sai, encouraging him not to dwell on his past but to take pride in how far he has come. Sai expressed his initial aspiration to become a doctor but could not afford the medical college fees. He then shifted his focus to engineering before developing a passion for acting.
Sai recounted how his mother was initially against his acting career due to its instability. She preferred that he pursue an MBA and secure a corporate job. However, Sai was determined to follow his dreams and spent eight months convincing his mother to support his career choice in acting.
