Anil Kapoor faces viewer backlash as Bigg Boss OTT 3 host amid criticism and mixed reactions

Actor Anil Kapoor, who replaced Salman Khan as the host for the third season of Bigg Boss OTT, has encountered criticism from a section of the show's audience. A Reddit post criticizing Kapoor's hosting style has gained traction, with users expressing their dissatisfaction with his performance.

The Redditor's post read, “Hope this is the last we saw Anil Kapoor as a host in Weekend Ka Vaar. Fake laugh, fake anger, total fake personality as a host.” This sentiment was echoed by many social media users, who described Kapoor's hosting as “pathetic” and “cringy.” Comments on the post included remarks such as, “The producers should definitely reconsider having him as the host for this show again,” and “Weekend Ka Vaar felt more like a comedy circus.”

Despite the backlash, recent data from Ormax shows that the third season with Kapoor as host has attracted more viewers compared to the previous season hosted by Salman Khan. Salman’s absence was attributed to his commitment to his upcoming film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss.

The third season of Bigg Boss OTT premiered on June 21 on JioCinema, featuring contestants like Ranvir Shorey, Lovekesh Kataria, and Kritika Malik. Alongside his hosting duties, Kapoor is preparing for his next film, Subedaar, directed by Suresh Triveni, and is rumored to be joining the YRF Spy Universe with roles in War 2, Alpha, and Pathaan 2.
