Baadshaho, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan go strong in Week 2; Poster Boys & Daddy fail to impress in 1st-weekend

With Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha breaking the jinx of flop films at the box office this year, Ajay Devgn's Baadshahowhich was released two weeks back, continues its steady run at the ticket window. The multi-starrer film has collected  ₹ 2.25 crore on its second Saturday to take its second weekend total to  ₹3.75 crore. The nine-day figure of the film amounts to  ₹58 crore.

The Ayushmann Khurana-Bhumi Pednekar's Shubh Mangal Saavdhan showed growth of over 80% on its second Saturday. Looks like, the film will go past Bareilly Ki Barfi on Monday and there is a good chance the film will finish gross around ₹ 40 crore. In week one, the film minted ₹23.69 crore at the ticket window and in the 2nd week, SMS collected ₹7.83 crore, making the total up to ₹31.86 crore in two weeks.

Last Friday, Arjun Rampal's Daddy and Sunny-Booby Deol's Poster Boys were released and both the films failed to make any mark. Arjun's film based on gangster turned politician Arun Gawli's life tanked majorly with merely collecting ₹2.75 crore over its first weekend. Whereas, Shreyas Talpade's directorial Poster Boys managed to mint ₹7.25 crore at the ticket window.

Looks like, these two releases are going to bring no respite to the box office and maybe Kangana Ranaut's Simran and Farhan Akhtar's Lucknow Central create some magic at the otherwise dull ticket window.
