The fourth movie in the , hit the screens this Diwali and has quickly become a family favourite. In the third week, the film made ₹2.04 crores on Friday. It saw a drastic increase on Saturday and collected ₹3.69 crores. ₹4.85 crores were made on Sunday, ₹1.25 crores on Monday and ₹1.02 crores on Tuesday. The film has made a staggering total of ₹195.78 crores worldwide.
Director Rohit Shetty is overwhelmed by the response the film received from the audience and in a recent interview said that it was symbolic of the love people have for the franchise. Ittefaq marks the directorial debut of late filmmaker BR Chopra’s son, Abhay Chopra, and is an adaptation of Yash Chopra’s 1969 film of the same title. The original featured Rajesh Khanna, Madan Puri, and Nanda in lead roles. The crime thriller is about two murders that took place on a single night and the plot follows two different versions of the same story. BR Films is also co-producing the latest film with Dharma and Red Chillies.
