Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Veere Di Wedding has proved all the naysayers wrong. The film which does not have any A-lister hero and has got an A-certificate is ruling the roost with its content. It has made all the people who wanted to brand the film as a ‘chick flick’ eat humble pie with its box office collections. It has crossed the half-century mark and has already fetched a cool Rs 52.90 crore in net box office collections in India. The film stars Shikha Talsania, Swara Bhasker and Sumeet Vyas in the lead besides Sonam and Kareena. It might see a little decrease in collections because of the release of Rajinikanth’s Kaala and Jurassic World.

On the other hand, John Abraham’s Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran is minting money at the box office. The film is going steady with no major upset to topple it from its smooth run. John and Diana Penty’s film has also crossed the Rs 50 crore mark and has garnered a cool Rs 50.55 crores at the Indian box office collection.

Alia Bhatt’s Raazi, which is in its fourth week, is still not ready to back down. The spy thriller starring Vicky Kaushal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Soni Razdan, Amruta Khnavilkar and Rajit Kapoor is still going great at the box office. The Meghna Gulzar directed film has raked in Rs 117.34 crores in India business and will collect more moolah.
Raazi’s run proves that films with good content work well at the Indian box office and people are no longer only interested in masala and commercial films. Even a female-centric film can do stupendous business at the box office. It’s time we get more such amazing stories made with strong female characters leading from the front.
