Sanju has become the ninth highest grossing Hindi film ever at the Indian box office. The film has an ensemble cast and besides Ranbir stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles.
Apart from Ranbir, Vicky and Paresh have been appreciated for their performance in the film. Vicky plays the role of Paresh Ghelani, Sanjay’s best friend whereas Paresh plays the enigmatic Sunil Dutt, Sanjay’s father in the flick. The film has received mixed reviews from the critics as many felt that it is a way of cleansing Sanjay’s image. Also, many had the grouse that Hirani did not remain true to the way a biopic is made and has glorified a character which committed many wrongs but does not take responsibility for any of his mistakes.
