John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate and Akshay Kumar’s Gold is neck-to-neck at the box office. The two films that released on the same date on Independence Day have managed to garner good box office collections. Both the films had a great first-day opening but took a dip on the subsequent days. However, they picked up steam on the weekends and have reached double digits in collections and managed to cross the Rs 50 crore mark already.
Besides John, Satyameva Jayate stars Manoj Bajpayee, Aisha Sharma and Amruta Khanvilkar in the lead. The film’s day 5 collection was Rs 10.26 crore and has now clocked a total of Rs 56.91 crore. The action drama is appealing to the audience and looks like it will manage to keep the viewers engaged through the week as well.

Gold and Satyameva Jayate would be now looking forward to maintaining their grip at the box office in the days to come and would be hoping to enter the Rs 100 crore club at the earliest. Akshay and John both were confident about the box office clash and did not attempt to change their film’s release date which is usually the norm in Bollywood.
Next week, the films will get a stuff competition from Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree and the Deols ft. Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.
