It’s been over two weeks since Akshay Kumar’s Gold and John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate released and both films are performing exceptionally well at the box-office. While Gold has already made over Rs 100 crore, Satyameva Jayate is still going strong in its third week.

On its third Wednesday, the Milap Zaveri-directed film fared Rs 1.21 crore while its current earnings stand at Rs 88.15 crore. Gold, in the meantime, has earned Rs 102.45 crore so far.
Set in 1948, Gold, directed by Reema Kagti, casts Akshay as a hockey team’s manager Tapan Das, wherein he dreams of winning a gold medal at the Olympics for India as a free nation. In Satyameva Jayate, John plays a vigilante, who fights against corruption and social injustice. Manoj Bajpayee, Amruta Khanvilkar and Aisha Sharma co-star in the film.
In the meantime, Sonakshi Sinha’s Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi also released on August 24 but hasn’t been witnessing a favourable run at the box-office. In fact, its collections witnessed a “noticeable drop” on Wednesday, as explained by trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his tweet. The Mudassar Aziz-directed film has earned Rs 16.96 crore so far.
