Box Office: Badhaai Ho is on a winning streak; Namaste England garners poor collections

After a dismal Friday last week when all the three films that released Jalebi, Tumbbad and Helicopter Eela failed to rake in much moolah, this week’s release has some ray of hope. However, out of the two films released that is Ayushmann Khurrana's and Sanya Malhotra’s Badhaai Ho and Arjun Kapoor's and Parineeti Chopra’s Namaste England only the former looks poised to do good business at the box office.

Badhaai Ho has received glorious reviews from all the critics and media portals and with a quirky trailer, the film has definitely piqued audience interest in the film. It had excellent collections on Day two as it collected Rs 11.67 crore.

Badhaai Ho's two days total is Rs 18.96 crore, which is without the collections from Madhya Pradesh as there is an ongoing strike in the state. The film did huge business in North India, East Punjab and Delhi and UP. Its collections in Delhi/UP went to almost Rs 4 crore.

Badhaai Ho that also stars Neena Gupta, Surekha Sikri and Gajraj Rao is a sure shot hit with this sort of growth and will keep the cash registers ringing on Sunday as well. The Dussehra weekend definitely proved magical for the film.

On the other hand, Arjun and Parineeti’s Namaste England had already sealed its fate on the first day with low and dismal collections. The film has not received good reviews from many critics and hence is not looking to do much at the box office. The trailer and the songs failed to excite the audience that resulted in low ticket sales. The film has grossed around Rs 3.5 crore total till date.
