Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero witnessed an upward trend in earnings on Christmas, as a result of which the film has collected a decent total of Rs 81.32 crore so far. Directed by Aanand L Rai, Zero casts SRK as a vertically-challenged man while Anushka Sharma stars as a NASA scientist battling cerebral palsy. Katrina Kaif plays a glamorous superstar in the film.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures as he explained the growth in earnings for Zero. The film opened with Rs 20.14 crore while its collections witnessed a subsequent decline in the following days – Rs 18.22 crore on Saturday, Rs 20.71 crore on Sunday, Rs 9.50 crore on Monday. However, Zero’s earnings increased considerably on Christmas as the film fared Rs 12.75 crore on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Kannada actor Yash’s film KGF or Kolar Gold Fields has been impressing audiences as the Hindi version of the film has already earned Rs 16.45 crore within five days of its release. KGF benefitted from the Christmas holiday as well since it earned Rs 4.35 crore on Tuesday.

KGF has been directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur. It released in five languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam.
Zero and KGF released on December 21.
