Box Office: Total Dhamaal and Gully Boy continue to fare well despite competition

Kartik Aaryan’s new film Luka Chhupi is performing exceptionally well at the box office but appears that movie buffs are enjoying Total Dhamaal and Gully Boy as well. Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal is continuing its golden run at the box office and has earned Rs 127 crore so far. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures saying that the film has emerged as a “big favourite in mass circuits.”

Earnings from such sectors are adding to Total Dhamaal’s “strong total despite reduction of screens” in metro cities. Directed by Indra Kumar, Total Dhamaal is a comedy film co-starring Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh and Arshad Warsi in the principle roles apart from Ajay.

Gully Boy, on the other hand, has earned Rs 134.21 crore so far while it also benefited from the Mahashivratri holiday. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy stars Ranveer Singh as a rapper from the streets of Mumbai while Alia Bhatt stars as his love interest in the film.
