Akshay Kumar’s Kesari has been faring extremely well at the box office and has collected Rs 86.32 crore within five days of its release. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures, saying that the Anurag Singh-directed film earned Rs 8.25 crore on Monday.
The film, which depicts the bravery of 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikh Regiment (now the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment) of British India defending an army post against more than 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen, has worked well especially in India's northern belt.

Kesari has been doing good business abroad as well, especially in Canada (Gross Box Office Collections - USD 234,464), Australia (Gross Box Office Collections - USD 228,262), New Zealand and Fiji (Gross Box Office Collections - USD 59,942) and Malaysia (Gross Box Office Collections - USD 32,084).
Kesari, in fact scored the biggest opening weekend collection for a Bollywood film in 2019 in India so far as it earned Rs 21.06 crore on the first day of its release. The film crossed the Rs 50 crore mark within three days and also set a record by ending up as the highest opening weekend of 2019 so far.
