Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Kesari, which hit the screens on the occasion of Holi, has crossed another milestone by entering the coveted Rs 150-crore mark at the box-office. Currently in its fourth week, the war drama raked in only Rs 65 lakh on Friday, but collections eventually picked up over Saturday and it collected Rs 1.25 crore. On Sunday again, the film did decent business, thereby taking the total box-office collections beyond Rs 150 crore.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari is based on 1897's Battle of Saragarhi where 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army put up a strong fight against 10,000 Afghan troops.
On the other hand, John Abraham's and Mouni Roy's Romeo Akbar Walter, also known as RAW, failed to impress in its first week. As the film headed towards its second week, the collection picked up, the film managed to make a total earning of Rs 34.29 crore at the box office by its second Saturday. On Sunday, RAW raked in over 3 crore, taking the total collections to over Rs 40 crore.
