Actors Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh starrer De De Pyaar De hit the silver screens on May 16 and collected in Rs 10.41 crore at the box office on the first day of its release. On is second day, the film grew with strong word of mouth and witnessed 50 per cent growth at the box office, thereby collecting Rs 13.39 crore. The total two day collections of the film now stand at Rs 23.80 crore.
As per a report in a trade portal, "the growth has come across the board with some places growing 60-65% while mass dominated places were less but nevertheless were still up due to the handfull of big multiplexes in these circuits showing good growth." Although the first weekend of the business is expected to be average at around Rs 37-38 crore nett, De De Pyaar De can work well in weekdays and hopes to end the first week with a good number, only to be affected by elections on Sunday.
Meanwhile, De De Pyaar De was given a U/A certificate from The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) which had suggested the makers of the film to replace an alcohol bottle in a song with a bouquet of flowers. Produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Akiv Ali, De De Pyaar De explores the relationship between an older man and a younger woman.
