Box Office: ‘War’ continues its rampage, ‘The Sky Is Pink’ struggles, ‘Joker’ crosses the Rs 50 crore mark

Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor starrer War is wreaking havoc on the box office. The film is officially a blockbuster and has again witnessed a big growth on its second Sunday and collected Rs 13.90 crore nett (Hindi - Rs13.20 Cr and Tamil & Telugu -Rs 0.70 Cr)! The total collections of the action spectacle now stands at a staggering 271.65 crore nett.

Produced by YRF, War is receiving unanimous love and appreciation from critics and audiences alike for delivering a never seen before action spectacle and a superb story with twists and turns that keeps audiences at the edge of their seats till the end.

On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar starrer The Sky Is Pink has not been able to do much on the box office. The film picked up steam on Day 2 but fell flat on Day 3. The film failed to even garner much money at the multiplexes and appeal to its target audience. As per a trade website, the film has raked in a total of Rs 4 crore on its third day at the box office. The film has managed to rake in a total of Rs 10.50 crore in three days at the box office.

Based on the life of motivational speaker and author Aisha Chaudhary, The Sky Is Pink is directed by Shonali Bose and also stars Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf.

The Sky Is Pink’s first-weekend collection is lower than the second-weekend collection of Joaquin Phoenix starrer Joker despite both the films having the same target audience. Joker, which witnessed a decent opening of Rs 5.15 crore on October 2, has now entered the Rs 50-crore club at the box office on Day 12.

The film is directed by Todd Phillips and is a spinoff on the backstory of Arthur Fleck who eventually turns into Batman’s arch-nemesis and Clown Prince of Crime. The film also stars Robert De Niro in a pivotal role.
