Box Office: 'Bala' remains steady; Marjaavaan' inches closer to Rs 50 crore mark; 'Pagalpanti' fails to impress the audience

Ayushmann Khurrana's film Bala, which released on November 7, recently crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. Also starring Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam, it is about a young man suffering from premature balding. The film saw a first-day collection of Rs 10.15 crore on Friday and now on its third Sunday, the film minted Rs 3.22 crore, taking the total box office collections to Rs 105.87 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, "#Bala - playing at limited screens/shows - gathers momentum again, on [third] Sun... [Week 3] Fri 1.35 cr, Sat 2.50 cr, Sun 3.22 cr. Total: 105.87 cr. #India biz."

On the other hand, Milap Zaveri-directorial Marjaavaan, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria, Riteish Deshmukh and Rakul Preet Singh, witnessed a decline on second Friday, but picked up on Saturday and Sunday. After collecting Rs 2.32 crore on Sunday, the total collections now stand at Rs 42.92 crore. The film is slowly and steadily inching closer to Rs 50 crore mark. Here's what Taran tweeted:

Last but not the least, Anees Bazmee's Pagalpanti, starring Anil Kapoor; John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Ileana DCruz, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela and Saurabh Shukla, has opened to underwhelming box office figures in its first weekend. The film collected Rs 8.25 crores on Sunday, taking the total collections to Rs 19.50 crores. The film got a tough competition from Disney’s Frozen 2.
