Ashutosh Gowariker’s periodic drama Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Padmini Kolhapure and Sanjay Dutt has failed to allure the audience to the theatres. The film received pretty good reviews from the critics but that has not resulted in footfalls at the theatres. The film that had a not-so-great Day 1 with Rs 4 crore has dwindled rapidly.
The film has gone on to collect Rs 25.30 crore by the end of its first week at the box office. Not only the film is facing issues at the box office but a protest in Rajasthan due to erroneous portrayal of Maharaja Surajmal in the film left the makers to edit out the portion and shorten the duration of the film by 11 minutes. The film revolves around the third battle of Panipat fought between Afghan ruler Ahmad Shah Abdali and Commander-in-Chief of the Maratha army Sadashiv Rao Bhau.

On the other hand, Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday starrer Pati, Patni Aur Woh is great guns at the box office. The film directed by Mudassar Aziz is the remake of the 1978 film of the same name featuring Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeet Kaur in the lead.
When numbers do the talking... #PatiPatniAurWoh emerges a winner... Week 2 - when it faces multiple new films - is crucial... Fri 9.10 cr, Sat 12.33 cr, Sun 14.51 cr, Mon 5.70 cr, Tue 5.35 cr, Wed 4.62 cr, Thu 4.36 cr. Total: 55.97 cr. #India biz.

The film has crossed Rs 50 crore mark at the theatres and is looking to rake in more moolah. The film has not appealed much to the critics but is being well-liked by the audience. Apparshakti Khurana also stars in the film.
