Box Office: Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 3' sees strong growth, Rani Mukerji's 'Mardaani 2' holds the fort

Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Saiee Manjrekar starrer Dabangg 3 has finally seen some good collections six days after its release. Although the film opened well compared to other films, it was a little slow compared to being a much-awaited film of Salman. The film has entered the Rs 100 crore club and witnessed a growth of 65 on Christmas. 

The film is a prequel to the other two parts of the franchise and sees Salman reprise his roel of Chulbul Pandey and Sonakshi as his wife Rajjo. Dabangg 3 is directed by Prabhudheva and also stars Arbaaz Khan, Mahie Gill and Kichcha Sudeep. The film has garnered Rs 119.55 crore in all versions.

On the other hand, Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani 2 is trending very well on weekdays as well. The film’s business took a big jump on Christmas and crossed the lifetime business of Mardaani of Rs 35.85 crore. The film grossed Rs 38.90 crore at the box office.  

Mardaani 2 also stars Vishal Jethwa as the antagonist and is directed by Gopi Puthran. The film has managed to sustain its growth even though facing tough competition from Dabangg 3
