Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which narrates the story of the brave warrior, Tanhaji Malusare has had a big win at the box office on the first day. The visual extravaganza has opened at 15.10 crore on Friday.
The film, directed by Om Raut, narrates this story with utmost simplicity for audiences of every age, along with authentic war strategy, and an emotional journey of everyone who has been part of Tanhaji's life. It has received an impressive box office collection, great critical acclaim and has been getting exceptional word of mouth. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, produced by Ajay’s ADF and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, is expected to see a good growth over the weekend.
On the other hand, Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak, featuring Deepika Padukone as acid attack survivor Malti, fared decently on its first day and managed to collect Rs 4.77 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the numbers saying, "#Chhapaak is ordinary on Day 1... Collects well at select high-end multiplexes... Biz at Tier-2 and 3 cities and also mass circuits is way below the mark... Growth on Day 2 and 3 crucial for a respectable weekend total... Fri 4.77 cr. #India biz."
