On the other hand, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara, which is set against the backdrop of the Kashmiri Pandit exodus from the Kashmir Valley in late 1989 and early 1990 in the wake of violent Islamist insurgency, has failed to impress the audience. The film collected a mere Rs 35 lakh at the box office on Tuesday, taking the total collections to Rs 5.35 crore. The film introduced newcomers Sadia and Aadil Khan.
