Box Office: Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar has a poor start on Day 1; Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness and Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 continue their dream run

There is a tough fight going on at the box office with Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar trying to find a place between Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness and KGF: Chapter 2’s roaring business. Ranveer’s film has failed to make an impact on the audience and garnered poor collections on Day 1 of its release. It has got a poor start at the box office culling the hype and the expectations from it.

Despite having a strong social message the film has not received rave reviews but mixed reactions. Jayeshbhai Jordaar has notched only Rs 3.35 crore on Day 1 making the weekend extremely crucial for the film. It also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah and is directed by Divyang Thakkar.

On the other hand, Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 continues its dream run even on Day 30 of its release. The film has received an amazing response from the audience and has grossed Rs 1180 crore worldwide and is soon expected to join the Rs 1200 crore club. Written and directed by Prashanth Neel, the film is a period drama set in the Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty in pivotal roles. Malavika Avinash, Prakash Raj, Eswari Rao and Saran are seen in supporting roles. KGF 2 is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films and the third installment will go on floors this year after October as well.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness box office collection on Day 8 seems to be dipping after a good start. On Day 1 of release it had earned Rs 30 crore on its first day. According to Box Office India, the film grossed Rs 103 crore at the box office on Day 8th of its release. It is expected to cross the Rs 125 crore mark over the weekend. According to an international online portal, the film’s global box office haul stands at $551.6 million. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is directed by Sam Raimi and also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams.
