Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Panday's Liger released in theatres on Thursday. While Tamil and Telugu versions of the film were running in cinema halls since the morning, the Hindi edition premiered at night. The pan-India action-thriller opened to a positive response at the box office.
As per the official figure, Liger has collected Rs. 33.12 crores globally on the first day. Reportedly, the film collected Rs. 13.50 crores in Telugu states, Rs. 1.25 crores in Hindi and Rs 2 crores in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
Liger is about Balamani (Ramya Krishnan) and her son Liger (Vijay Deverakonda) who shift to Mumbai from Karimnagar. Liger pursues MMA but despite being warned by his mother, he falls in love with his enemy's sister Taniya (Ananya Panday).
Liger also stars Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy and Mike Tyson. The film is directed by Puri Jagannadh. It is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar and Charmme Kaur.
