Horror comedy flick Munjya directed by Aditya Sarpotdar is being celebrated among the audience and the remarkable success is the proof. The low-budget film refuses to stop attracting viewers which has kept cash registers ringing. The new installment of Maddock Films' supernatural and horror universe continues to create havoc even in 2nd week of its theatrical run. Week 1 collections were truly exceptional and so is week 2 taking the total to Rs 68 crore.
Munjya has been running successfully in theaters since its release on June 7, 2024, as it managed to pull the audience on day 13 as well. Sharvari and Abhay Verma starrer has made an impressive business surpassing a milestone of crossing Rs 60 crore at the box office. After gaining remarkable numbers on the weekend the film maintained a steady pace. Making a collection of Rs 3.50 crore on day 12 the film experienced a drop on day 13 earning Rs 3.25 crore. Munjya continues to rage at the box office with a total collection of Rs 68 crore in 13 days of successful theatrical run. On day 14 the film is expected to cross Rs 70 crore and with the ongoing success, it will achieve the milestone.
Munjya is set in a Maharastra village named Konkan celebrating the folklore in Indian cinema. The movie is centered around a mythological tale in which if a young boy dies within 10 days of his thread ceremony turns to be a demon. This particular character has been created by CGI and named Munjya in the film. The character has been loved highly by the audience for its timely scare and laughs. The horror comedy film starring Abhay Verma, Sharvari Wagh, and Mona Singh is an entertaining blockbuster.
