Stree 2 box office collection day 1: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror flick turns biggest day one opener of 2024

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s most awaited film Stree 2 finally made it to the theaters on Independence Day. The sequel of 2018 Stree released after 6 years and it was worth the wait. Maddock Films fifth installment of the supernatural horror universe has made a blockbuster opening at the box office surpassing records. Amar Kaushik's directorial bags the title of India’s biggest opener of 2024. The film beats the record of other movies released this year.

Stree 2 released on August 15, recorded biggest day-one opener of 2024 in Bollywood. The horror comedy made a massive collection of 76.50 cr as gross collections on its first day including paid previews. With this, the film has emerged as the biggest opener of the year. It has defeated other big films that hit the theaters this year. The film beats Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter, Prabha's magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD, and others. 

Until now, the title of biggest opener 2024 was enjoyed by the action thriller film Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The film reportedly earned Rs 24.6 crore on day 1 of the release. On the other hand, Kalki 2898 AD, released in multiple languages, made Rs 22.5 crore in the Hindi version on its first day of release. According to reports Stree 2 stands in 

Stree 2 is a cinematic experience with a package of horror, laughter, and magic. The film is a spooky delight where haunts and humor are matched on the right tone. Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik have done a great job in introducing viewers to the otherworldly universe of horror where chills meet chuckles. Stree 2 faced the box office clash with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa.
