Stree 2 continues to rule the box office, The Buckingham Murders passes the Monday test

Moviegoers are served with new releases and re-releases in theaters. While The Buckingham Murders was released on 13th September 2024, Tumbbad made a return to theaters. Meanwhile, previously released Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein have continued their theatrical run. Here’s a look at these movies box office collections. 

The Buckingham Murders starring Kareena Kapoor Khan has captivated the audience with its gripping intense thriller. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film is having a subtle run at the box office. On 1st Monday it earned Rs 0.80 crore bringing the total collection to Rs 5.70 crore. To note, it opened with a business of Rs 1.15 crore and witnessed growth over the weekend on day 2 and day 3 earning Rs 1.75 crore and 2 crore respectively. 

Tumbbad was released in theaters again after six years and received a humongous response. The folklore adventurous fick made a staggering collection upon re-release than when it was released originally in 2018. On Monday it collected 1.65 crore surpassing The Buckingham Murders collection of Rs 0.80 crore. Sohum Shah’s Tumbbad re-release box office collection stands at a total of 8.65 crore.

Stree released on August 14, is still ruling the box office. The fifth installment of Maddock Films supernatural universe has collected Rs 0.25 crore on day 33 of its theatrical run. The total box office collection of Stree 2 stands at Rs 537.90 crore shattering several records set by other highest grosser movies. 

Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein is also running in theaters completing five weeks of the release. On day 33 the film collected Rs 0.25 crore on the first Monday of 6th week. The comedy-drama starring an ensemble cast has so far collected Rs 38.85 crore. Mudassar Aziz's directorial has captivated the audience for its light-hearted story with a message.
