Alia Bhatt’s action packed thriller Jigra made a decent start at the box office on its release day, October 11. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film made a promising opening minting Rs 4.55 crore at box office collection. While Navratri celebrations slowed its performance in several regions it is still flying high in multiplexes. This shows strong potential for growth in coming days.

Jigra which highlights the deep bond between a brother and sister has been generating positive word-of-mouth with the audience applauding its gripping narrative blended with emotional depth. JIgra tells the intriguing story of Satya played by Alia Bhatt, who goes to extreme lengths to rescue her young brother Ankur (Vedang) from a drug case after he is wrongly imprisoned in a foreign jail.
