Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer Jigra is picking up the pace at the box office. Vasan Bala's directorial has witnessed a jump in box office collection day 2. Jigra has minted Rs 6.58 crore on the second day, Saturday. On the Dussehra festive day, the film has shown impressive growth making a total of Rs 11.13 crore net at the Indian box office.
Jigra opened to a decent start on its release day registering Rs 4.55 crore. The film has approximately made a 44.61% jump in the box office collection earning Rs 6.58 crore on day 2. The film is expected to witness a spike today as well on day 3 of the theatrical run. It may close the first weekend with over Rs 20 crore in business.
Jigra, which explores the deep bond between a brother and sister, is generating positive word-of-mouth and reporting housefull shows in metro cities. Jigra tells the intriguing story of Satya played by Alia Bhatt, who goes to extreme lengths to rescue her young brother Ankur (Vedang) from a drug case after he is wrongly imprisoned in a foreign jail.
Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra opened in cinemas on October 11. The film marks Alia Bhatt's maiden theatrical production venture after tapping into OTT with Darlings. Alia Bhatt not only headlines the project but also bankrolled it under her company Eternal Sunshine Productions in association with Dharma Productions.
