Allu Arjun has officially emerged as the reigning champion of the Nepali box office. The Telugu superstar’s pan-India action entertainer ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has become the highest-grossing foreign film in Nepal for the Nepali calendar year 2081 BS (spanning April 2024 to March 2025 AD).

According to the annual box office report published by Nepal’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, ‘Pushpa 2’ collected a massive 26.44 crore NPR, equivalent to 16.52 crore Indian rupees, from the sale of 88,44,000 tickets. Released in the Hindi-dubbed version in over 100 theatres in December 2024, the Sukumar directorial has not only dominated the 2081 BS charts but also etched its name in history as the biggest foreign film grosser ever in Nepal, surpassing Yash’s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ (19.29 crore NPR). ‘Pushpa 2’ was the second-highest grosser at the Nepal box office in the overall 2081 BS rankings, trailing only the Nepali blockbuster ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’, which set an all-time record with 46.80 crore in domestic collections.

Taking the second place in the top 10 list is another Telugu film, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone starrer mythological action drama accumulated 12.57 crore NPR (7.86 crore Indian rupees) in Nepal, while Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2’ claimed third spot with its lifetime business of 8.11 crore NPR (5.07 crore Indian rupees). Notably, four of the top ten highest-grossing films hailed from South Indian film industries, while one was a Hollywood release, showcasing the dominance of regional Indian cinema in Nepal’s market.
