Color TV’s primetime show Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman is going off air. The soap by Rajshri Productions will telecast its final episode on coming Friday. Apparently, the reason cited by producers is low TRP but the real reason is Bigg Boss 11 timings. Salman Khan helmed Bigg Boss season 11 will be telecasted on slot of 9 pm to 10 pm from October 1 onwards whereas Swabhiman is being televised on slot of 9:30 pm. The producers are reluctant to change their show timing. Hence, they have decided to pull off the plug on the show.
Curated by Sooraj Barjatya, Swabhimaan, launched in December last year depicts the story of two sisters, who in their own way fight for their rights and their respective love stories makes the crux of the show. It stars Sangeita Chauhan, Ankita Sharma, Sahil Uppal and Samridh Bawa.
The show had recently celebrated the completion of its 200 episodes in a grand way.
Swabhimaan's replacement hasn’t been narrowed down while Colors is all set to launch the 11th season of the most popular and controversial Bigg Boss from October 1. On weekdays, the reality TV show will air at 10:30 pm while on weekends at 9 pm.
Color's rival channel - Star Plus’ soap opera Rishton Ka Chakravyuh will see a new vamp. Reportedly, popular actress Sangeeta Ghosh will be joining the cast soon and her character, Sudha has lot many grey shades.
The show sees a collision between industrialist mother Satrupa and her daughter Anami. Sangeeta’s character will be adding a twist to the already crooked relation between the mother and daughter. Her constant plotting and mind games will turn the tables, in the show.
When asked about her role Sangeeta said, “I am excited for this role as I have done nothing like this before. I am sure audience will like me doing something different.” Sangeeta will be seen sporting Bengali style draped saree, voluminous curls, and big bindi in the show, a stark departure from her previous modern looks in past shows.
