Ekta Kapoor has always been known for larger than life serials and the grandeur that mirrors the sets of her serials. Recently, one such set which was erected at Mira-Bhayandar’s Udyog Nagar got demolished. The said demolition happened on Saturday and lasted till Monday.

The bulldozer demolished in 10- 12 make up rooms in addition to the 200 feet studio. As per sources in the Mira-Bhayandar Corporation, a certain portion of the grand set had got a stay order. The demolition was carried out by ward no 6’s Avinash Jadhav at the behest of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) Commissioner Dr. Naresh Gite.

Another set which came under BMC's bulldozer radar at the same location happens to be on Sony TV's grand show, mythological drama, Prithvi Vallabh - Ithihas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi. The show stars Ashish Sharma as Prithvi Vallabh and Sonarika Bhadoria as Mrinalvati. The show is produced by Aniruddh Pathak.

Readers may know that this is not the first time when a serial’s set has been demolished. A few years back, a similar incident had happened on the sets of a television show called Kya Aap Panchvi Fail Champu Hain, which was a spoof on the  Shahrukh Khan hosted ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain’.  The said incident took place at a set in Simran Studio, which had been constructed in a ‘No Development Zone’ at Patharewadi in Malvani, Malad. After finding out that the said studio was illegal, a special demolition squad of the BMC demolished the sets. The squad had brought down three make up rooms and a tin shed-covered studio among other structures.

There was yet another incident wherein a part of SRK’s Red Chilies studio got razed. The company was found to be operating an illegal canteen for its staff employees on the building’s terrace by enclosing the same with illegal structures. It was found that besides the unauthorized structure; even the canteen was being run illegally. This demolition was carried out by as many as 25 BMC workers in the presence of police.
