Kapil Sharma returns with Season 2 of his show but without Sunil Grover

An early Christmas Present for all the fans of Kapil Sharma as the ace comedian is all set to return to the small screen with his popular TV show, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. Apparently, Kapil will be back on the comedy platform by the end of January 2018.

And guess what?! We hear that Kapil’s previous team members including Kiku Sharda, Rajeev Thakur, and Chandan Prabhakar will also join Kapil in ‘The Kapil Sharma Season 2’. So does that mean Dr. Mashoor Gulati played by Sunil Grover will be back too? Unfortunately, the answer is an absolute NO!

A close source reveals, “Both Kapil and Danish Khan (programming head of Sony TV) tried their best to convince Sunil to come back but he has put his foot down. Sunil is in no mood to join Kapil’s show. He is not only happy with Kapil Sharma but also has issues with the channel itself.”

So, what’s the issue between Sunil Grover and Sony Channel? “Sunil wanted to bring his own show on Sony TV for which a lot of briefings were done by the creative team of the channel. However, the channel wasn’t sure on Sunil’s talent. After Sunil’s show ‘Super Night With Tubelight’ failed to impress the audience; the channel people dropped the idea of bringing Sunil’s show. However, they want to bring Sunil back but only if paired with Kapil Sharma,” the source concludes.

We also hear that, apart from Kiku Sharda, Rajeev Thakur and Chandan Prabhakar, talks are still going on with Ali Asgar and Upasana Singh. On the other hand, Sugandha Mishra is also not in the mood to join Kapil’s show.

We tried contacting Sunil Grover and Danish Khan to confirm the news. However, our calls went unanswered.
