However, Mohit, who maintains an extremely private life, had been almost obsessively private about his personal life. He had previously declared, “I prefer to keep my personal life separate and don't want it under media glare. It doesn't really remain the same if it's completely out there. I have never even brought my mother or any other family member in front of the camera despite many requests.”

Opening up about rumours of his dating Mouni, he said that he has always been the kind of person who doesn’t believe in mixing his personal and professional life. He also shared that unfortunately, Mouni is the only friend he has in the industry. This is why, he claims, people have assumed that something is going on between them. He pointed out that if one sees his pictures on social platforms, most of them are with his close friends whose accounts are private, along with Mouni as she is the only celeb friend that he has. “She was a co-star and then she became a very good friend and she will remain a dear friend always,” he summarised.

Just Rumours?
He claimed he wasn’t at all affected by the news of his dating Mouni, implying that rumours were part and parcel of the game. “Since I am part of a business, I have to face it. The sooner you accept it, it becomes easy.” Sharing more about his equation with Moni he said they were genuinely good friends and respected each other. He pointed out the similarities between them: they both hail from small towns, and non-film backgrounds, and are self-achievers. They both have the blessings of their respective fathers, who are no longer with them. All these factors have created immense pride for each other, he says. The rumours don’t upset him either – ‘Who would mind being linked to a film actress?’ he joked.
