Karan Patel takes legal action against imposter conning girls using his name

Actors might have made the best use of the social media platform as it acts as a mediator to connect with their fans. But like each coin has two sides, social media has increased the risk for its users. The recent one to bear the brunt is Karan Patel, TV's heartthrob, and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s lead actor. Karan took upon himself to warn his female fans about an imposter who is conning them through his name.

Karan Patel shared a series of pictures on his Instagram page of a man named 'J.D. Raut' who has been promising fans and aspiring models and actors a path in the industry and a chance to meet the actor himself. He wrote, "Guys, J.D RAUT is a complete fraud and this is not my contact number, so please do not entertain any kind of calls or messages or requests from this contact. The person is a complete asshole. I have filed a case with the police, will trace the bastard soon ... thankyou. #StayAlert #StaySafe #ImposterUsingMyName.”

"This is the ugly reality of this fraud imposter called J.D RAUT ...! Google this criminal’s name to be more aware of his tactics ...! specially Girls please please stay away from him and stay alert ..," he added.

Unaware of the imposter's intentions, Karan had earlier gave a shout out to the man through a video. However, quick to realize, the actor has come forth and warned his fans of the same. He wrote, "Guys this video that J.D RAUT is circulating around is MY MISTAKE because like you’ll even I WAS CONNED INTO THIS TRAP OF SUPPORTING HIM ..! I request all of you to REPORT THIS GUY (J.D RAUT) TO THE POLICE ... i have NOTHING TO SO WITH HIM ..!"

Talking about this he said in a statement, "I recognized that video. I shot for this man a few years ago, as it was his idea to bring in new talent in the industry through his acting institute. I thought it to be a noble idea as that would give aspiring actors a chance to get a foothold in the industry."

Continuing about the same, when asked about further legal actions, he said, "What triggered my anger was the fact that he was asking girls to send their nude pictures, promising them roles in a bold show. I can take any bullsh*t, but not this. A woman’s integrity can’t be harmed and I won’t leave him for this. I am in touch with my lawyers for an appropriate legal action against him."

It's no surprise that Karan has a huge fan following. From hit TV show such as Yeh Hai Mohabbatein to even his cricket reality show, people love to watch this actor on the screen. Always the one to voice his thoughts, the actor being in the public eye and having an influence on people naturally alerted his fans and has taken all legal actions possible on the same.
