Nakuul Mehta's onscreen mother Nitika Anand to take a break from Ishqbaaaz?

Fondly remembered as Pinky Oberoi, Shivaay a.k.a. Nakuul Mehta's onscreen mother on the hit series Ishqbaaaz is all set for the next chapter of her life. The actress recently announced a brief hiatus as she enters the third trimester of her pregnancy. Speaking to a media house, Nitika confirmed the news, “Yes, I am taking a break from the show as I am in my last trimester.”

Nitika who tied the knot to Indrajit back in 2006, after 12 years of marital bliss finally is ready for the next phase of her life. Talking to a news channel, the actress excitedly shared the news of her pregnancy and her journey. She gushed, “I am very nervous but I will say this. I am embracing motherhood. I am expecting a little baby 2-3 months later. Bohat lucky manti hoon iss show ko, because is show ne mujhe itna acha character diya, jiske baad me apna thoda chota-mota sa break le sakungi.”

Over the last few episodes, Nitika was seen in loose clothes to hide her baby bump and was mostly seen in a comatose state, due to the track and leap the show had taken. In yesterday’s episode, she was seen getting out of that state to finally reveal the truth about Roop Bua.

Earlier rumour mills were churning about the show to go off air but producer Gul Khan came on record to clear the air. She said, “This is the fifth time, I am hearing this rumour. It comes up every six months. For the fans, I would like to say nothing like this is happening at all.” She further clarified, “We wrapped up the track to not stretch the fake wedding (Shivaay and Pooja) as that was never the plan.”
