Ekta Kapoor surprised her fans by announcing the reboot of the epic love saga, Kasautii Zindagi Kay. The show starred iconic Jodi, Prerna and Anurag played by Shweta Tiwari and Cezzane Khan. Recently, Ekta released the promo and the viewers are thrilled for the reboot. While Erica Fernandez is reprising the role of Prerna, the male lead still remains a mystery. Hina Khan has also been roped in to play the iconic Komolika.

Recently, Sumona Chakravarti, popularly known for playing comedian Kapil Sharma's on-screen wife, has joined the KZK crew. It is being said that she has been roped in to play the role of Nivedita Basu's role, the male lead Anurag Basu's sister.

When we contacted Sumona, she confirmed the news of being approached. “I used to watch Kasautii Zindagi Kay during my childhood days and I used to really love that show. Being a part of its sequel will be quite exciting. Yes, I have been approached for it, but honestly, nothing has been finalized yet. The talks are at a very initial stage,” she said. If the rumours are to be believed, she will be reprising the character previously played by Poonam Narula.

Popular TV actor Pooja Banerjee has also joined the show. She will be seen playing the role of Prerna’s sibling. Her role would be important to the development of the show further.

Kanupriya Pandit, who was seen in Badrinath Ki Dulhania, will be seen playing the role of Prerna's mother and Prasad Mukherjee's wife on the show.

Veteran actor Kali Prasad Mukherjee has been roped in to play the role of Prerna's father. The actor was seen in shows like Rang Rasiya, Tere Liye and Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum.

The show is slated to go on floor by the end of August 2018.
